Terms of Service
Last updated: 28 July 2026
These terms govern your use of the Khatmly app and khatmly.com. By using Khatmly you agree to them. They are written to be read, not skimmed — they are short because the app is simple.
1. What Khatmly is
Khatmly lets people complete readings of the Quran collectively. One person starts a khatam; others claim its thirty paras, read them, and mark them done. The app also offers shared dhikr (tasbeeh) goals, a Quran reader, and an Islamic calendar. Khatmly is free to use.
2. Your account
- Sign-in is with a Google account. You may also use the app as a guest, with reading and browsing but no participation.
- You are responsible for activity under your account. One account per person, please.
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
3. The honor system
Reading on Khatmly is trust-based, and the system only works if that trust is honored:
- Claim a para only when you genuinely intend to read it in the window you choose.
- Mark a para done only when you have actually read it. No one checks — that is between you and Allah.
- If your reading window expires, the para returns to the pool and you receive a warning. Repeated expired claims can temporarily restrict your ability to claim paras, to keep khatams moving for everyone else.
4. Community content
Khatam titles, dedications, and display names are visible to other users. When you write them, you agree they will not contain:
- abuse, hate, or harassment of any person or group;
- content mocking or disrespecting the Quran, the Prophets, or any faith;
- spam, advertising, or attempts to solicit money;
- personal information about someone else without their consent.
We may remove content that breaks these rules and, for repeated or serious violations, suspend the account responsible. You can report content from within the app.
5. Collective contributions
When you read a para in a shared khatam or submit counts to a shared tasbeeh goal, your contribution becomes part of a collective total. Contributions cannot be withdrawn from a collective total once made, though they are never displayed with your identity.
6. The Quran text
The mushaf in Khatmly is verified and displayed exactly as published. You may not attempt to modify, extract, or redistribute it through the app.
7. Acceptable use
Don't attempt to disrupt the service, access other users' data, automate claims, or use the app for anything unlawful. We may suspend accounts that do.
8. Availability and changes
Khatmly is provided as-is, without warranties. We work to keep it reliable, but we cannot promise uninterrupted service, and we may change or discontinue features. Where a khatam or tasbeeh goal is affected by an outage, we will do our best to preserve its state, but we are not liable for losses arising from use of the app, to the maximum extent permitted by law.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using Khatmly at any time, and you can request account deletion as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
